If looked after, all of our photographic products are carefully made to last a lifetime. We use archival acid free materials and pigments
All of our products are provided with specific product care sheets. As a rule…
Photographs, prints, canvases need to be kept out of direct sunlight. UV absorbing glass is a great help for anything that is on permanent display. To light your photograph, there are specialist bulbs that filter out UV. Call us for advice on this. Prolonged exposure to UV can cause colour fading. We use professional archive grade materials, which ensure colour rendition is perfect, and aging kept to a minimum
We recommend the investment in some cotton gloves for handling your wedding photographs. Fingerprints contain acid, which destroys the paper and pigments
Humidity is the next big thing to avoid for any form of photograph. Our albums are supplied in storage boxes or briefcases to aid long term storage
Your DVD, will need particular care, we will give you a care sheet. On top of that, the life expectancy of a DVD is short, so you will need to remember to make regular copies and backups of your disks. The DVD format has only been with us for a few years, and now it is being replaced with blue ray. Previously we have had CD’s and floppy disks (which are now defunct). We recommend you transfer the photographs on your disk onto a new disk every few years, and then check the new disk for integrity
If you have any questions about this then feel free to contact Richard, who will be happy to run through things with you
