There’s one in here that completely blew my mind. Throughout this video, I will be going through everyone who cameos in the film and talking about how deeply layered some of the easter eggs are.

This video won’t be going through every spider-man who appears in the film and if you wanna watch that then we’ve done a full breakdown on it linked here. Instead this is the big name actors that go beyond just the suits and things from the comics.

*SPOILERS FOR ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE*

In this video I’ll be ranking all of the movie Spider-Men canon to Across the Spider-Verse from weakest to strongest, based on their feats of power and calculations therein.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a 2023 American computer-animated superhero film featuring the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales / Spider-Man, produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation in association with Marvel Entertainment, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), it is set in a shared multiverse of alternate universes called the Spider-Verse. The film is directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers and Justin K. Thompson, in their feature directorial debuts, from a screenplay written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller (who both also co-produce) and David Callaham. Shameik Moore voices Miles, starring alongside Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Luna Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali, and Oscar Isaac. In the film, Miles goes on an adventure with Gwen Stacy / Spider-Woman across the multiverse where he meets a new team of Spider-People known as the Spider-Society, led by Miguel O’ Hara / Spider-Man 2099, but comes into conflict with them over handling a new threat.

Sony began developing a sequel to Into the Spider-Verse before its 2018 release, with the writing and directing team attached. It was set to focus on the relationship between Moore’s Miles and Steinfeld’s Gwen. The sequel was officially announced in November 2019 and animation work began in June 2020, with a different visual style for each of the six universes visited by the characters. With a runtime of 140 minutes, it makes it the longest animated film ever produced by an American studio.[5]

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse premiered at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles, California on May 30, 2023, and was released in the United States on June 2, having been delayed from an original April 2022 date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Similar to its predecessor, the film has garnered universal acclaim from critics. It has earned $208.8 million against a production budget of $100 million at the worldwide box office. A third film, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is scheduled to be released on March 29, 2024, while a female-focused spin-off film is in development.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. It is the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. It stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man alongside Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Benedict Wong, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire. In the film, Parker asks Dr. Stephen Strange (Cumberbatch) to use magic to make his identity as Spider-Man a secret again following its public revelation at the end of Far From Home. When the spell goes wrong because of Parker’s actions, the multiverse is broken open, which allows visitors from alternate realities to enter Parker’s universe.

A third MCU Spider-Man film was planned during the production of Homecoming in 2017. Negotiations between Sony and Marvel Studios to alter their deal—in which they produce the Spider-Man films together—ended with Marvel Studios leaving the project in August 2019, but a negative fan reaction led to a new deal between the companies a month later. Watts, McKenna, Sommers, and Holland were set to return, and filming took place from October 2020 to March 2021 in New York City and Atlanta. No Way Home features several actors reprising their roles from non-MCU Spider-Man films directed by Sam Raimi and Marc Webb, including previous Spider-Man actors Maguire and Garfield. The involvement of both actors was the subject of wide speculation and numerous leaks despite the efforts of Sony, Marvel, and the cast to conceal their involvement.

So, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse just released and it’s… really good. Like, overwhelmingly good. Like, I can’t say everything I need to say in a single video kind of good.

Everything that was great about the first movie, this movie takes it and steps it up. The animation is more gorgeous than ever, the soundtrack is incredible, each character is so layered and complex. There’s so much happening in every single frame that it’s impossible to get the full experience on just one viewing.

And I have so much to say about it. About the animation, the story structure, the cliffhanger ending, the characterization of Miguel O’Hara as well as all the other cameos and Spider-People like Insomniac and Spectacular Spider-Man, my favorite character of Hobie Brown as Spider-Punk, the different allegories and metaphorical lenses one can view this movie through and the core message that makes this movie stand apart as more than just “Part 1” and instead as its own movie.

So, *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* is on its way, and there’s one thing that everybody’s clamoring for. The single most important aspect to any piece of superhero media. Without them, the genre is basically pointless. THE SUITS BABYYYYY.

The first game, as well as the *Miles Morales* spinoff, both had a fantastic selection of suits to choose from. Not only were there iconic movie suits that looked gorgeous, comic costumes that were ripped right out of the page, but also original designs and fresh takes on old concepts that we’ve never seen before.

In the past I’ve made a video talking about the idea of a suit builder, which is definitely something I would really like to see, but it’s also a pretty complicated system that’s probably not ready for this second game just yet. And so instead, here are some of the suits that I want to see in *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2*.
